Founded in 1923, Stockport Rugby Union Football Club is a traditional, community focussed club, who provide opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
The First XV currently play in National League 4 North.
The Second XV retain their presence in the top half of the Bateman BMW Premier League after beating the likes of Waterloo and Fylde.
The Third XV gained promotion to the Miller Homes League 1; a great testimony to the strength and quality of rugby which is present throughout the senior set-up that also has very competitive 4th and 5th XV’s
The Club continues to be a force to be reckoned with throughout the Mini and Junior section, with over 300 players in the 10 age groups playing every weekend throughout the North West.

From the M60 junction 2 towards Cheadle. At the end of a very long slip road be in the RH lane. At the roundabout turn right, through the traffic lights and under the railway bridge towards Cheadle on the A560. At the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Councillor lane and continue for approx. 1 mile to the traffic lights. Go straight across the lights and continue under the railway bridge and over a hump backed bridge to a small roundabout, take the 2nd exit off the roundabout onto Garners Lane and continue for approx. ¾ mile to the traffic lights at the T-junction (Davenport station is opposite the lights). Turn right onto the A5102 (Bramhall lane) and continue along the road for about 1¾ miles, go across the small roundabout and down the hill to a large roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Bridge Lane and Headlands Road is the 2nd on the right, at the end of the road the club is on the left up the hill
