U18 Girls County Programme

Representative rugby for players outside the U18 PDG pathway.

The Cheshire U18 Girls Rugby Programme provides a high‑quality representative opportunity for players aged 16–18 who are not selected for the England Rugby U18 PDG. It ensures talented, committed players across the county still have access to meaningful development, coaching, and competitive fixtures.

This programme is designed to recognise and develop players who continue to show strong potential through club and school rugby, even if they are not part of the national PDG pathway.

What the Programme Includes

The Cheshire U18 programme follows a clear, structured format:

  • Assessment Session – Initial evaluation of core skills, game understanding, work rate, and potential.
  • Squad Development Session – A focused session to build cohesion, clarify expectations, and introduce team principles.
  • Three Training Sessions – Performance‑focused coaching covering:
  • Tactical understanding
  • Positional development
  • Decision‑making
  • Contact skills
  • Game strategy
  • Three Playing Opportunities – Competitive fixtures against other counties, giving players meaningful representative rugby.

This structure ensures every selected player receives development, preparation, and game time.
