Dave Buttery R.I.P....

Today Anselmians lost a true legend.

A Birkenhead Park captain, a county champion with Staffordshire, and an outstanding coach at Birkenhead Park, Liverpool St Helens and here at Anselmians.

When he finished coaching, Dave kept giving. He took on every off-field job his skills could handle, in the old clubhouse and the new one, and was a key member of our “Ground Force” crew. Many of the lockers and dugouts you see at Malone Field were built by his hands.

He knew the game inside out, was always great company, and was someone you looked forward to seeing at the club.

A devoted family man, father and grandfather, a first-class player and coach, and a wonderful human being.

Our sincere condolences go to Dave’s family and friends.

Once a Saint, always a Saint.
