Well done to all the U17s teams who played in the Junior Cup competitions.
The finals were held on Sunday 24th April at Macclesfield and the results were:
Cup
Chester 10 – Stockport 34
Bowl
Caldy 45 – Sandbach 31
Plate
Bowdon 62 – Marple/Glossop 21
Cheshire would like to thank the hosts, referees, coaches, players, and parents who made it a great day.
In addition, the hosts at Macclesfield would like to congratulate the winners, for their magnanimous victories, and the runners up for their gracious defeats. All the players conducted themselves with exemplary behaviour before, during and after the games. The spectators were equally good natured and whilst shouting their own teams on, they were supportive of all sides, and recognised talent where it occurred. There were no comments shouted at match officials or the players, and the changing rooms were swept!
Some great humour, and everyone enjoyed it. This is testament to the coaching teams and ethos of the six clubs.
If ever there were a demonstration of the core values of rugby, and the ‘living’ of the RFU spectator, player and coaches codes of conduct these teams have nailed it.
Well done all for an enjoyable afternoon of Rugby.
