Many thanks to the squad for their punctuality and for the parental support for these away games to Yorkshire. Two blended sides played on the ARG surface at Yarnbury RFC who afforded us a warm welcome.
The first squad to play were Cheshire Blues who started very confidently and immediately pressurised Yorkshire. This was the situation for most of the first half when Cheshire played some very entertaining Rugby. Due to their replacements Yorkshire made a come back at the start the second half but Cheshire soon regained their dominance and ran out 40 pts to 5 winners. A very good all round performance.
In the second game Cheshire Whites were under pressure from the kick off and conceded an early score. This was the pattern for the first quarter of the game but gradually Cheshire fought back and eventually reduced the score to 15-7 for Yorkshire at half time. This improvement continued into the second half where Cheshire played some entertaining Rugby, but any lapses were soon punished by Yorkshire. A period of pressure on the Yorkshire line failed to produce a score and Yorkshire broke away to produce the final score which resulted in a final score of
29pts to 12 to Yorkshire. This looked like a stronger Yorkshire side but all credit to Cheshire on their performance.
