Cheshire RFU SoR Nomination and Assessment
Posted by Web Administrator on Wednesday, 19th August 2009 at 3:24PM

Nomination for the SoR is primarily from the U13/U14 district development squads, the U15 district/County squads and the U16 County squad. Schools and clubs should, therefore, nominate any potential SoR players for one of these squads, as appropriate, and NOT directly to the SoR. It is important, therefore, that prospective SoR players and their coaches and parents are aware of the nomination process and programme for these squads.  For information on the nominations process and 2009/10 programmes for:

(a) the U13 and U14 district development squads - click here,

(b) the U15 district representative squads and County squad - click here,

(c) the U16 County squad - click here.

There is also provision for direct nomination from a school or club to the SoR in exceptional circumstances - see the document on the Operation of the Cheshire RFU SoR.

Nominations for the SoR must be made by a representative of the District/County squad management completing an SoR Nominee assessment form.

An
SoR nominee assessment form  must be completed for anyone being nominated by a school or club direct to the SoR via the “exceptions” route.  It must also be accompanied by a note explaining why the nomination should be considered.  Where the nominee is currently playing rugby, it is expected that the player would have been observed by an SoR representative before an invitation is issued to attend an SoR session.

All nominations must be accompanied by an
SoR player registration form completed by the player’s parent/guardian/carer

All completed forms should be sent to Jane Cliff, SoR Administrator, preferably by email. Janecliff@therfu.com

There is no obligation on the SoR to accept a nomination.

Players will be assessed at each SoR session and formal feedback will be given periodically (usually once or twice each season).  It is expected that players will share this feedback with their coaches and parents so that they can tailor their individual development programme accordingly.  SoR coaches will be available to give further advice if required.
