Whilst are approaching the end of yet another Season, and another series of Finals, we do have to turn our minds to the Future.

The Competitions Committee has been operating for a few years with decreasing membership, through retirement, illness etc. That, course, plus the ever increasing demands on Members and Officers in their work within their own Clubs.

As a result, far too much work is falling on the shoulders of too few people and we need to remedy that.

With the County AGM approaching, could I ask that all Clubs and County Members, apply themselves to this problem and come forward with proposals of individuals who

can be relied upon to input their experience into the efforts of this Committee, to ensure that we have a continuation of high quality Finals such as we have had so far this year.

The work of this Committee has been made increasingly difficult, due to the need to balance the playing of Ties with the responsibility of Clubs to honour their RFU League Commitments, and the shortage of weekends when Ties can be fitted in.

In fact our neighbours in Lancashire have not found it possible to organise their Competitions at all this Season.

We are determined that that will not happen in Cheshire, and therefore ask for nomination of new Members be made, via myself or the County Secretary, so that we can carry on the good work of the past.
