Last term the King’s School in Macclesfield held a “design-a-rugby-shirt” competition for all pupils to enter.  The idea came from King’s Head of Rugby, Guy Mason and the schools Art Department as a cross-curricular Initiative. The competition was held in partnership with Kukri, King’s kit suppliers, and received 104 entries from Year 7 right up to Sixth Form – with both boys and girls entering and a couple of Staff as well!  The Art Department supported the competition and provided the shirt templates and asked for them to de done as a homework.  We selected 13 finalists and their designs went on the Staff Room wall for all the teachers to look at and make comment on. The best two went to the design stage and Kukri produced a computer generated design mock-up.  The winner was Josh Burke in Year 7 with this camouflage shirt and the shirt is now in production in China and will be worn by the school’s Senior Sevens squad in the Rosslyn Park Sevens!
